Those of you who check my blog regularly, brace yourselves for a little drought. This afternoon I leave for Switzerland and won't be back until March 14. I'm not taking my laptop so there won't be any posts until I get back.
I'm travelling with a group through Oak Hall, a Christian tour company for people in their twenties and thirties. The purpose of the trip is skiing and snowboarding but I don't enjoy either activity so my plan is to get a Swiss Pass and use the train to explore the surrounding area and use the hiking trails to enjoy the snow and sunshine. In the evening there are Bible studies with the group.
Can you believe it? Finally - a trip where I'm not alone the whole time! Hopefully my room-mates won't snore. Thanks for the earplugs, Stacey - they're packed, just in case.
I don't know anything about Switzerland and I'm totally confused about which names refer to towns, regions, or mountains. I think I'm staying at a chalet in Lauterbrunnen, near Interlaken, in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland. If I'm saying that totally wrong, most of you won't know the difference anyway so I'm not worried. It looks like I'm going to an area where German is the primary language but I don't speak a word of German. I think copious amounts of miming, confused looks, and laughter are likely in my future.

Have a wonderful time! Can't wait to read all about it and see the pictures when you are back!
Blessings,

I'M FINALLY CAUGHT UP!!! Woohoo! You probably won't see this until it's too late (since you've already left), but if by chance you check your email from some swiss internet cafe, my aunt says the town of Grindelwald was her favourite place in Switzerland. I also have no idea if that's anywhere near where you're going, but if it is you should check it out! It sounded pretty nifty from her stories! :) Hope you're having fun!

Oh Amanda, Interlaken is AMAZING. The area around there was MY favorite place in all of Europe. Grindelwald is beautiful in the spring and I'm sure very charming in winter. I know exactly why Lindsay's aunt said it was her favorite. You can take a tram up to the top of the world it seems from there, to a famous spot in one of the 007 movies ( In her Magesty's Secret Service, I think)... In Interlaken or not from from there are a bunch of underground waterfalls. You take an elevator down down down into the depths of the mountain and then follow a lighted path for an amazing look at all this water all beautifully cascading down and lit up underground. Not for the feint of heart though love, so if you don't like closed in places just buy a postcard. Like Lindsay I so hope you get this email from a cafe while you are gone. I know you'll have your camera flashing wildly and I can't wait to see what you found. Enjoy every minute. Terri
I didn't get these messsages until I returned. Thanks for all the tips though! Blog posts and photos coming soon... saw some of the sites mentioned and some had to be missed. I had an amazing time!
