No, I didn't drop off the planet... nothing much has been happening lately so no point in posting. Here are some bits and pieces of what I've been up to lately.
I moved my arm last week and felt that ominous seizing in my back as something went out of place. I hoped it would just go away but it has only eased a little. A woman at church does consultations as a physiotherapist so I gave her a call and she used her connections to get me an appointment at a private clinic on Monday. Hopefully they can get things sorted out because I haven't been sleeping well and I want to get this fixed before going to Italy.
This past week I sorted out quite a few details for being the MC at David and Keri's wedding reception. Things are coming together and I'm really hoping I can meet with their expectations and give them a really fun reception! I was a Conference Coordinator for three years (2003 - 2006), so working out the schedule and discussing details has been a lot of fun as it brings back so many memories. Event planning is definitely something I love to do!
Lately I've spent a lot of time working on gathering ideas for the trip to Italy. I've also been figuring out some basic Italian phrases and how to pronounce things so I can read out menu items without sounding like a complete moron. One website gave the phrase for saying, "That's disgusting!" in Italian as a recommended thing to say to a man to get him to stop grabbing your butt on the bus. This could be a really interesting vacation... to say the least. I'm now laughing out loud remembering my sister grabbing my butt while we were in the kitchen a while ago and when I jumped she laughed and said, "Enjoy it. It's the most action you'll be getting for a while." I'll be horrified if a stranger tries anything and I won't put up with it, but I'm sure Lisa's words would flash through my mind and bring some amusement to a nasty situation.
I'm getting more and more excited! I want to plan out a bunch of day trips but just take it a day at a time and go wherever I feel like going each day. I figure there are so many amazing things to see, I'll have a great time no matter where I end up going. The main famous cities nearby are Pisa, Florence, and Rome, but I want to also spend time exploring the smaller towns and countryside.
I'm also getting excited about seeing my family again! Three-and-a-half weeks to go!

if you only knew how many times us guys dared each other at bible study to do such a thing just to see what kind of reaction we would get... however none of us seemed to want to be at the receiving end of your wrath, or sherri's for that matter!
LOL - I would have been shocked but I would have laughed. Come on - I was the one who was thisClose to grabbing your butt when you almost sat on my lap.
Russ was soooo close soooo many times but then he would get that awkward and fearfilled look on his face and back out...we all figured he was the most likely to be pressured into such a stunt.
LOL... poor Russ. The one stunt I remember was Andy Martens sitting next to me on a couch and putting his arm around me. I just snuggled in because I knew he was trying to get a rise out of me and he was the one who freaked out. Fun times!
