I just received another call from the consultant. He said if I get an interview it will be tomorrow and not today. He also asked about the particulars of my visa to find out if it can be extended beyond twelve months as they may want to award the position as a six-month rolling contract (permanent position renewed every six months). I told him it's strictly a twelve-month visa and the company would have to sponsor me to obtain a long-term work permit (unlikely as they need to prove to the European Union that nobody else can fill the position). He then asked if there was any chance I might want to get married before my visa expires. Once I moved past the shock of his question I got a good laugh out of it and told him I'd love to find a husband but that can't be terms of the contract.
This seems to be a theme with my job hunting lately.
At my interview in Basingstoke last week I was asked how my coworkers would describe me. I replied that I think they would say I'm friendly, quick to help others if they need assistance, and I'm not a catty, high maintenance kind of coworker. The two interviewers burst out laughing and said, "You're the perfect girlfriend or wife! How is it possible that you're still single? You just described exactly the kind of woman men look for!"

Indeed, how is it possible?
I think this is great that these opportunities keep popping up. Thanks for the regular updates.
